Peter Frankopan will be in conversation with the Provost, Sir Jonathan Bate, in New York on 10 April at an alumni event generously hosted by David Loevner (1976).

Peter Frankopan is Professor of Global History at the University of Oxford, Senior Research Fellow of Worcester and Director of the Oxford Centre for Byzantine Research.  He is also a best-selling author of The Silk Roads: A New History of the World, described as a ‘masterly mapping out of a new world order’ in the London Evening Standard and as ‘superb’ by the BBC.  A New York Times bestseller, it has topped the non-fiction charts in many countries.

In 2017, Professor Frankopan was appointed as a senior advisor and academic expert to a major project for the World Bank and Department for International Development (DFID) on Transport Corridors in South Asia. More widely, he advises governments, inter-governmental agencies, multilateral institutions and corporations around the world on geopolitics.

As a Sachs Scholar at Worcester, David Loevner received an MSc in Applied Statistics and a BPhil (MPhil) in Economics from Oxford.
