First and foremost, we’re a place of learning. Founded in 1714 on a site associated with education since the 13th century, we continue our rich educational tradition to this day, while embracing the future.

We strive for academic excellence, sparking intellectual curiosity in our students and setting them on course for a bright future. Worcester offers not only educational foundations; through our community, support structures, and opportunities we create well-rounded students who are able to succeed.

Worcester weaves together past and present while leaving space for the future. Our beautiful grounds, buildings and community have over 700 years of history. While we’re responsible for upholding Worcester’s legacy, we also have a responsibility to the future that our students will inherit.

Our values

We exist to advance academic excellence and change lives through our inspirational teaching and research.

Our world-class academics produce impactful research and offer personalised tuition to our students. We also place real value on being a friendly, warm and open college where everyone is supported to fulfil their potential. Our outreach work empowers students from under-represented backgrounds to access an Oxford education.

Three beehives

We’re responsible for a site associated with over 700 years of learning and have a duty to employ the highest standards in our operations.

Our commitment to sustainability ensures that Worcester can continue to welcome students to our unique environment for generations to come. As a good neighbour, we’re also conscious of our impact on the broader environment, both locally and globally.

We want everyone to feel valued and respected in our community of students, staff and researchers.

We’re one of Oxford’s most diverse colleges and firmly believe this diversity enriches us. Our well-established outreach programmes and dedicated learning support resources embed widening participation in College life, while our vibrant social life celebrates different cultures and faiths, offering a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities to all. Above all, we are ‘One Worcester’ together – a place where everyone is welcome and everyone can feel at home.

Supporting our community

We’re proud to be part of the community here in Jericho, our local Oxford neighbourhood. As a good neighbour, we’re conscious of our impact on the local community – as well as the difference we can make to it. Part of our five-year strategy is to be an outward-facing college which welcomes visitors and shares its resources. Local residents are welcome to visit the gardens free of charge and we support local charities and community groups by offering our spaces and meeting rooms free of charge.

We regularly support the following local organisations and events. Please note that all bookings are available subject to availability and upon agreement with the College.
