Luke Grenfell-Shaw (2018, Water Science, Policy and Management) had exciting dreams for his future after following his undergraduate degree at Durham: teaching in Russia, embarking on a professional career, and even competing at a high level in triathlons. Everything changed in June of 2018, when he was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer than had already spread to his lungs. Luke chose to pursue a one-year Masters degree at Worcester during his treatments, during which he re-evaluated what was most important in life.
