Worcester has a great – and well-deserved – reputation for its food.

We’ve been voted one of the top 3 colleges for vegetarian and vegan food and our talented chefs work hard to serve dishes which are both tasty and sustainable. An average day at Worcester will see 1,000 meals cooked for students, staff and visitors. We always have vegetarian, vegan and halal options available and can cater for most dietary needs: just get in touch with our catering team to find out more.

Our high-quality meals are highly subsidised and, with our pay-as-you-go system, you only pay for what you use. That means you’ll have the flexibility to eat in the hall, cook for yourself in a shared kitchen, or try some of the delicious cuisines available in Oxford’s restaurants and cafés. As well as the main hall, our café serves up snacks throughout the day, while the Cellar Bar is the perfect place to enjoy some drinks and games in the evening.

A place to come together

Eating with friends (and strangers!) in hall is one of the distinctive features of an Oxford college.

At Worcester, you can enjoy eating together in our stunning Georgian dining hall. Completed by celebrated architect James Wyatt in 1784, the hall looks almost as it did when students first ate there thanks to comprehensive restoration work in the 1960s and 2018.

In this beautiful setting, we serve breakfast, lunch and dinner with cafeteria-style seating (Monday to Saturday), while brunch and dinner are available on Sundays. As well as our regular dinner each evening, at Worcester you can enjoy formal dinners three times each week. These are a wonderful opportunity to dress up and enjoy a subsidised three-course meals with friends.

BREAKFAST, 08:00-10:00

Chose hot cooked breakfast items or enjoy the continental buffet options available.

LUNCH, 12:00-14:00

Choose a hot meal with sides, such as potatoes or rice, along with roasted vegetables or salads and a side of soup . If you prefer a sandwich or something to grab-and-go, our café is open 10am – 4pm in term time.

DINNER, 17:30-18:45

Pre-book by 4pm to enjoy a hot meal.

FORMAL DINNER, FROM 19:00

A three-course meal served at the table on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Harmohinder – or ‘H’ – has overall responsibility for the domestic teams in College, including accommodation, catering, conferences and the Porters’ Lodge.
