Election of Provost

7 January 2020

The Governing Body of Worcester College invites applications from exceptional candidates to fulfil the role of Provost from 2021.

Worcester College is one of the 39 constituent Colleges of the University of Oxford and is home to a vibrant academic community of 75 Fellows, a lively and varied student body of around 450 undergraduates and 200 graduates, and a dedicated expert team of more than 200 professional staff, all representing a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.

This is a particularly exciting time to join Worcester College as it enters a new phase, with a primary focus on people: the diversity, cohesiveness, welfare, and happiness of the College community. It is the College’s conviction that academic excellence and integrity acquire and retain their value only in a culture of diversity and accessibility. Worcester College believes in its duty, as an academic institution and an employer, to work ceaselessly to make the College not only a home for academic excellence and high professional standards, but also a happy and supportive community genuinely representative of our society.

The new Provost will be dedicated to these values and ideals, and will help to lead the College as it shapes and pursues ambitious strategies for change. The College intends to develop policies which will transform its community over the coming years, and that the new Provost, working with and through Governing Body, will play a key part in driving this change.
