Wigmore Research Fund supports three new projects

The Wigmore Research Fund, launched last year, is the first of its kind and is designed to support research-related projects which explore new methods and novel research avenues.

Through cross-disciplinary intersections and practical support, the Wigmore Fund supports Worcester members to develop ideas and to enhance our research culture and environment within College. Open to staff and research students, the fund has supported the following three projects in its latest round of awards:

  • Molecules in motion: interdisciplinary insights into the biomolecular mechanisms of disease – Jack Bennett and Sophie Lawrence (DPhil Physical and Theoretical Chemistry), Dr Weston Struwe (Fellow & Tutor in Biochemistry) and Professor Kim Dora (Fellow & Tutor in Medicine)
  • New voices on the Polis – Joel Pollatschek (DPhil Ancient History)
  • Plasma Worc: exploring the fourth state of matter – Charlie Kniebe-Evans (DPhil Physical and Theoretical Chemistry) and Professor Richard D’Arcy (Fellow & Tutor in Physics)
