Background: 

Grant was an undergraduate and DPhil student at Trinity College, Oxford. He then became a Junior Research Fellow at St. John’s College, Oxford, before winning a prestigious Royal Society Fellowship. He is now Professor of Chemistry and the John and Patricia Danby Tutorial Fellow in Chemistry at Worcester College.

Research interests: 

Professor Ritchie’s (physical chemistry) research focuses on the application of laser-based spectroscopic techniques to a variety of fundamental and applied problems in the areas of gas-phase reaction kinetics and dynamics, optical micromanipulation and medical diagnostics (see http://ritchie.chem.ox.ac.uk/).
