Robert Saxton awarded Honorary Fellowship by St Catharine’s College, Cambridge

Professor Robert Saxton was inducted as an Honorary Fellow of St Catharine’s College, Cambridge last weekend at a ceremony in the college chapel.

The Senior Tutor, Dr Paul Hartle (with whom I overlapped for two years as an undergraduate, so we have known one another many years) was in charge of proceedings and the Master, Dame Jean Thomas, presided over the induction in chapel. This was followed by a splendid feast in Hall. I feel deeply honoured by this fellowship from my alma mater which, I gather, was conferred partly because I have, over the past 20 years, written three commissioned pieces for the college chapel.
