Alumni team to feature on Christmas University Challenge

If you’re looking for some unmissable TV over the Christmas vacation, look no further than Christmas University Challenge on BBC Two.

A team of Old Members are taking on the iconic quiz as part of the programme’s annual festive alumni edition. Tune in at 8.45pm on Christmas Eve to watch the Worcester team take on alumni from the University of Bristol.

This year’s team features:

  • Glyn Maxwell (1982, English) poet, librettist, novelist, and playwright (The Lifeblood; How the Hell Are You)
  • Alice Jolly (1986, Modern History) novelist, short story writer, playwright (From Far Around They Saw Us Burn; The Matchbox Girl)
  • Tom Parker Bowles (1994, English) food critic and writer
  • Professor Sir Peter Barnes (1970, Pharmacology) respiratory scientist and clinician, Professor at Imperial College London

As the only Oxford representatives this year, we’re looking forward to cheering on Team Worcester!

The contestants are a rather lovely bunch of journalists, academics, politicians and other assorted professionals, all trying desperately to remind themselves of what they've forgotten from their own student days.
