It is with the deepest regret I have to report that Professor David Bradshaw died last night. He had been ill with a severe cancer for some months (he took enormous joy and comfort in messages he received from former students), so it is a release as well as the occasion for great sadness. David was always so funny, so collegial and so full of vitality, as well as being a great teacher and scholar-critic: he will be sorely missed. Barbara and the children are in our thoughts.
