Jack Nunn wins French essay prize

Congratulations to Jack Nunn (former undergraduate student at Worcester, now a graduate student here) on winning the 2021 R. Gapper Undergraduate Essay Prize Prize.

The prize is awarded annually by the Society for French Studies for the best essay submitted by an undergraduate student at a university based in the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland. The judges this year were impressed by the overall standard of entries from across the UK and Ireland. Jack’s essay discussed the relationship between human and nonhuman histories and was titled ‘New Ecologies: Plants, Stones, Robots / « Un mur strié de lignes, d’entailles, de marques… Une tranche de temps » (Maylis De Kerangal)’
