Facilities
Library
Worcester College has excellent library facilities. The main library, which is open 24 hours a day during term time, has 65,000 volumes, and individual reading cubicles. There is a separate Law Library and a magnificent Old Library which houses collections of European importance. The libraries are well funded for the purchase of new books. Further information can be found on the Library pages.
Computing
A computer room, for the exclusive use of graduate students, is provided in the Middle Common Room (MCR). All student rooms in College and Worcester flats have internet access and there is wireless coverage in all College buildings, including student accommodation. IT help is provided by the MCR IT Rep and the College IT department.
Sports
Worcester College is fortunate in having its sports facilities on-site. There are large playing fields used for, amongst other things, football, rugby, hockey and cricket. The College also has tennis courts and a multi-gym. There is an active Boat Club and we have a boat house on the Thames. In most sports there are men's and women's teams of varying standards, enabling any student to take part.
For further information on Sport, please refer to Student Activities.
Catering
All graduate accommodation has self-catering facilities. In term-time, graduate students also have the option of eating in College. Meals are paid for as taken. Breakfast and lunch are self-service. Dinner in the evening is either self-service ('informal hall') or, on several evenings each week, a served meal ('formal hall').
The College is happy to cater for vegetarians, vegans and those with special medical dietary requirements.
Bar and Common Rooms
The Cellar Bar is open every evening during term time and is a great place to meet and socialise.
Graduates belong to the graduate Middle Common Room (MCR). The MCR, which is run by a committee elected by its members, is housed in a restored 19th-century building within the grounds of the College. The facilities include an informal bar/lounge area with pool table, sound system and table football table, a TV room, and a computing/study room for the exclusive use of graduates.
