Job Title: Lodge Porter (Day Shift)
Salary: Grade 4 – £26,338 to £29,959 per annum
Hours: Full-time, permanent
Shift Pattern: 4 days on / 4 days off | 12-hour shifts from 7am to 7pm
Average Weekly Hours: 42
Worcester College is seeking a Lodge Porter (Day Shift) to join our friendly and professional Lodge team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of a historic Oxford college, providing a warm welcome and essential front-of-house support to students, staff, and visitors.
Working a 4-on / 4-off shift pattern, you will ensure the smooth and secure running of the Lodge during daytime hours.

Key Responsibilities
As a Lodge Porter, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the College Lodge. Your responsibilities will include:
Providing a friendly and professional reception service
Issuing and monitoring keys
Monitoring CCTV and ensuring campus security
Recording and responding to incidents appropriately
Supporting students, staff, and visitors with queries and access
Liaising with College departments and external services as needed

We are looking for someone who:
Has experience in a customer-facing role
Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Is calm under pressure and highly reliable
Works well both independently and as part of a team
Maintains professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail
Experience in a college, hospitality, or security setting is welcome but not essential. We encourage candidates from a wide range of backgrounds, including voluntary, academic, or personal experiences.
