Freedom of Information

Freedom of Information Act 2000 Publication Scheme

This publication scheme provides details of the information routinely published by the College, and how this information can be accessed. The Communications Manager is responsible for maintaining the scheme on behalf of the College’s Governing Body.

The scheme’s purpose is to promote the public understanding of the College’s activities, as far as is reasonably possible. Through the scheme the College aims to develop a culture of openness and transparency, while recognising that certain information may be except within the Act. The scheme indicates whether the publications available can be accessed electronically, via a website or in hard copy only.

It is important that this scheme meets the public’s needs and we would welcome any comments or suggestions about how it could be improved. Any requests for information under the terms of the Act that is not available through the publication scheme should be made to the Communications Manager. Questions, comments or complaints about the scheme should be sent in writing to:

The College reserves the right to make a charge for printed copies of some documents available on the website, to cover administrative costs.

Information which falls into the following categories is not published as part of this scheme:

  • Information not held by the College.
  • Information that is exempt under one of the Act’s exemptions or Environmental Information Regulations exceptions, or its release is prohibited under another statute
  • Information that is archived, out of date or otherwise inaccessible
  • It would be impractical or resource-intensive to prepare the information for routine release

If you would like to request a copy of this scheme, or any of the information covered by it, in a different format then please contact the Communications Manager.

Any concerns about the scheme should be addressed in the first instance to the Communications Manager. If required, an internal review can then be undertaken into a complaint. If, after investigation of a complaint, you are still not satisfied then the matter can be referred subsequently to the Information Commissioner, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF. The Information Commissioner can also provide advice about making enquiries under the Act.
