Narcissus ‘Tete Boucle’

With thousands of different narcissus (Daffodil) to choose from, with different stem heights, trumpet sizes and shapes, large cup, split cup or small cup, flowering time from early to late spring, single or multi-headed, and even the colours from white, through numerous shades of yellow and even peach, the list of choices can seem endless when trying to find the perfect one.

Here in the gardens the choice is usually made from those seen on garden visits, recommendations from television, magazines and social media, personal favourites, or, as on this occasion, a recommendation from our bulb supplier themselves. Last year, when ordering our bulbs from Peter Nyssen Ltd, we were asked to trial this double form of the well-known ‘Tete-e-Tete’ which we duly accepted.

The Peter Nyssen online catalogue details read as follows: “Buttercup-yellow double flowers with a hint of amber-yellow. Narcissus ‘Tete Boucle’ is a new double form of the amazing Tete-e-Tete. We are delighted to be one of the first to offer this gorgeous variety. An excellent variety for the rockery or containers”.

At just 15cm high this narcissus ‘Tete Boucle’ wowed us 12 months ago and quickly became a firm favourite and is now on our annual bulb order list, a highly recommended addition to any garden.
