February’s Heavenly Scent

Excuse me, but what is the name of that plant with the pink flowers and the lovely scent? Throughout January and February this is the question we have been asked the most by visitors to the gardens as they walk through the quad or past the Linbury Building. The answer is Daphne bholua ‘Jacqueline Postill’, an evergreen shrub adorned with highly scented clusters of soft pink flowers which fill the air with a wonderfully intense fragrance. As the Daphne grow larger, and the number of flowers increase, the scent gets more and more fragrant, something to look forward to year after year.
