Accommodation for Graduates

The College aims to provide one year's accommodation for most first year graduate students, with the possibility of accommodation for a further year, subject to availability. We have about 65 single rooms for graduates, some in College buildings and some in houses adjacent to the College. All of the single graduate accommodation has shared kitchens. There are a small number of two-bedroom flats overlooking the sports field, for graduates with partners (with or without children). Most of our graduate accommodation is on residential streets surrounding the College, in houses converted for student use or purpose-built graduate Halls. All College accommodation is non-smoking. The College is located on a multi-level site. We are committed to making arrangements to enable students with disabilities to participate as fully as possible in student life, and applicants are advised to contact the Graduate Officer with details of any specific needs. The College is signed up to the Student Accommodation Code and all accommodation is run in accordance with the Universities UK Code of Practice.

Accommodation prices in 2018-2019

Accommodation for single graduates: Rent ranges from £397.72 to £683.51 per calendar month, depending on the room grading. Tenancy agreements are for a fixed term of 10 months. Accommodation for graduates with partners: Rent is £991.50 per calendar month for a two-bedroom flat. Tenancy agreements are for a fixed term of 11 months. College accommodation is graded according to factors such as age, condition, size and appointment.  Rents are charged according to the room grade and are reviewed annually. 

Students are also charged for utilities and amenities. In 2018/19 the charges were:  utilities - £117.56 per term; and amenities - £11.30 per term.

Charges in 2018/19: Grade 3 rooms - £488.92 per month; Grade 4 rooms - £520.64 per month; Grade 5 rooms - £613.36 per month.


Franks Building: (built 1999; refurbished in 2017-18) just outside the College curtilage.  27 en-suite rooms (2 disabled rooms).  4 kitchens plus 1 laundry room. 

Charges in 2018/19: Grade 5 rooms: £613.36 per month.

 


17 Worcester Place: (built c1870) just outside the College curtilage. 6 rooms with shared bathroom facilities.  1 shared kitchen with laundry facilities. 

Charges in 2018/19: Grade 2 room - £397.72 per month;  Grade 3 rooms - £488.92 per month;  Grade 4 rooms - £520.64 per month


Worcester House (171 Walton Street): (built c1870) just outside the College curtilage. 11 rooms with shared bathroom facilities.  1 shared kitchen.  Laundry facilities in Mitchell Building next door.

Charges in 2018/19: Grade 2 rooms - £397.72 per month; and Grade 3 rooms - £488.92 per month


Worcester Cottage (172 Walton Street): (built c1700 with twentieth century additions; completely renovated in 2010) just outside of the College curtilage. 6 en-suite rooms.  1 shared kitchen with laundry facilities.    

Charges in 2018/19: Grade 6 rooms - £683.51 per month


42 Nelson Street: (built 1974) just outside of the College curtilage. 6 two-bedroom flats with laundry facilities. 

Charges in 2018/19: Grade 7 - £991.50 per month
