Thinking about applying to Oxford... for year 12s at state schools in Bradford

We are launching a new monthly discussion group for year 12s studying at state schools in Bradford, who are considering applying to Oxford / Cambridge. The group will meet with members of the Worcester outreach team and / or student ambassadors once a month to receive guidance on all aspects of the application process, and participate in discussions aimed at learning more about their chosen subject of study. Students who are applying to either Oxford or Cambridge in October to study any subject are very welcome to join us for these discussions, but we anticipate that students who sign up to be part of these meetings will do their best to make as many of the sessions as possible (rather than to attend a single session). Those who participate in the sessions will also have the opportunity to visit Worcester College and to stay overnight in the college before attending the University Open Day on the 2nd July. All expenses (including travel) will be covered.

This event is suitable for any Year 12 student thinking about making a competitive application to highly selective universities (like Oxford or Cambridge). Due to limited capacity, attendance is limited to students in Year 12 attending non-fee-paying state schools in Bradford.

Sessions will take place at Dixons Sixth Form Academy, 4.30 - 5.30 on the following Tuesdays:

April 21st - What makes a competitive application?

May 19th - Choosing a subject and choosing a college

June 23rd - Personal statements

July 14th - Admissions tests and interviews

To register for a place, please fill in this form. Applications will close at 5pm on the 30th March, so please make sure that you have submitted this form (and filled in all of the fields) by then. We will respond to all applications within a week from this date. If you have not heard from us by the 22nd March, please feel free to get in touch with us at admissions@worc.ox.ac.uk or 01865 278391.
