Death of Simon Grenville Horner (1975)

25 March 2019

We are saddened to report that Simon Grenville Horner has passed away.

Simon Horner was born in Oxford on 29 May 1956 to Lionel and Audrey Horner as one of three children: with a sister Sonia, and brother Max. He studied physics at Worcester College, Oxford, before going onto the University of London to pursue an MSc Geophysics in 1979. He realised that he wanted to be in the oil and gas industry, so went to Stanford University where he achieved a Master’s in Petroleum Engineering. This allowed him to work overseas, travelling the world; and while stationed in Peru, he met the love of his life and future wife Yolanda.

Simon, described as a loving husband and devoted father, is survived by his wife and three children, Christopher, Stephanie and Nicole Horner.
