Although we prefer visiting students to spend a full year at Worcester College, we do accept a limited number of half-year admissions. Michaelmas term (Oct-Dec) admissions are balanced out by an equal number of Hilary/Trinity term (Jan-June) admissions. There are usually fifteen visiting students at Worcester at any one time, which preserves our policy of providing on-site accommodation. The application procedure is therefore quite competitive, and admissions are conducted on the basis of academic promise. All applications are assessed by college tutors in the relevant subject area. A minimum Grade Point Average of 3.5 is required to apply, and most students accepted have a GPA considerably higher than this figure. We have accepted students from a great number of universities across North America, including the University of Michigan, Yale, Smith, Hamilton College, Rice University, Muhlenburg College, Johns Hopkins, and Wheaton College, to name but a few. Applications from all colleges and universities are encouraged, and will be seriously considered.
Prospective JYA students from Princeton University should obtain application forms from the Director of Princeton's Study Abroad Programme, who can also provide further information and advice:
