Worcester College has a graduate community of about 190 men and women reading for advanced degrees in most of the faculties. Graduates are usually taught and/or undertake research under arrangements made by the University, and the main focus of their academic life is therefore likely to be the appropriate department or faculty, rather than the College. Postgraduate students have a subject-based academic supervisor, who may be the member of any college. But graduates are also assigned a College Adviser, one of Worcester's academic staff, who take a general interest in their progress and are on hand to offer help and advice, if needed. In some graduate courses (e.g. BCL, MJur, and to some extent MPhil) tuition is provided or arranged by colleges in much the same way as for undergraduates. Graduates are of course free to attend any University lecture, and many lecture courses, classes and seminars are provided especially for them.
